Our Plan for Milton Keynes Central

Johnny is standing up for residents in Milton Keynes and campaigning on a range of issues, including:

  • Infrastructure before expansion

Milton Keynes is one of the fastest growing Cities in the UK, in part led by the Labour and Lib Dems Council's goal to nearly double the population of MK to half a million by 2050. This is causing pressure on local services, standstill traffic and the erosion of green spaces.

  • Boosting our local NHS

Our local NHS is absolutely vital for our residents and we all feel the pressure - driven by our incredibly aggressive Labour led population growth in MK. My colleagues and I are therefore throwing the kitchen to get more resources into MK and we've got a good track record, including:

  • Doubling neighbourhood policing

Working with the Police and Crime Commissioner Matthew Barber, the number of Thames Valley Police have increased by 784 since 2019. We need to ensure this is deployed to stamp down on car cruising, violent crime and theft.

  • Expanding free childcare

Johnny supports the Government's plan to, from Sept 2025, allow eligible parents of children from nine months to under the age of five to receive 30 hours of free childcare a week. Johnny will work with providers to increase childcare places for parents.

  • Attracting jobs and investment in MK

Milton Keynes needs to not just grow in population but grow in terms of job opportunities - Johnny's experience working with investors will come in handy as an ambassador to bring opportunities to MK, including ensuring East West Rail is complete and therefore connect directly to Oxford and Cambr
