About Johnny Luk

Johnny is running as a local, visible and energetic MP candidate for Milton Keynes Central. He grew up in Middleton, where his parents still live and went to Heronsgate School in Walnut Tree. He now lives in Glebe Farm with his wife, Diane.

After graduating from Durham University in Natural Sciences, with a focus on biology, spanning from ecology to molecular biology, as well as in business and geography, he joined the Civil Service leadership programme, where he worked in Business and Trade policies, including managing a major multi-country investment programme for entrepreneurs. In time he would also work in tech policy, leading on digital inclusion, as well as work in the Department for Exiting the European Union. Between these spells in government, Johnny led a non-profit to help young people setup startups.

Johnny also has extensive business experience, working in a senior role as Head of Policy and Strategy for Adecco, a major human resourcing company and then leading education policy at Global Counsel, advising some of the largest companies in the world at senior levels.

Beyond the desk, he also loves sports, in particular in rowing. He was a former national schools gold medalist and more recently won national medals in indoor rowing. He is also an avid writer, and contributes to World Rowing journalism.
